Capture NX là 1 ứng dụng tiên tiến giúp việc xử lí ảnh số trở nên đơn giản và trực quan hơn. Với các công cụ hoàn hỏa và tiện dụng, sẽ giúp công việc biên tập và xử lý ảnh của bạn trở nên nhanh chóng hơn bao giờ hết. Đặc biệt, đây ko chỉ là phiên bản dành cho những nhà thiết kế ảnh chuyên nghiệp mà còn khá thân thiện đối với người dùng phổ thông hoặc nghiệp dư.
Các chức năng chính của "Capture NX" :

Capture NX 2 easy-to-use software lets you make intuitive photo enhancements which are immediately visible on your monitor. Simply place the Control Point on the area that you want to edit and U Point Technology will analyze color elements such as hue, saturation and brightness, as well as recognize similar areas where an edit would best be applied. This technology powers the entire Capture NX 2 series of Control Points: Color Control Points, the all-new Selection Control Points, White/Black/Neutral Control Points and Red-Eye Control Points. With Capture NX 2, there’s no need to deal with selection tools, layers or lengthy training.
Main Features
Color Control Point:
Enhancements for hue, brightness and saturation are as simple as placing a Color Control Point on your image, then adjusting the length of the sliders. For example, Color Control Points are remarkably convenient for changing the color of flowers to better effect against green surrounding foliage.
Four Color Control Points were used to adjust color and brightness of various elements independently within the frame.
Two Color Control Points were used to enhance color and brightness of flower petals and the background.
Selection Control Point:
This new function enables you to apply enhancements such as Unsharp Mask or D-Lighting to a specific area with just a click of the mouse. There is no need for precision selection or masks — the Selection Control Point recognizes the areas you want to modify. The enhancement effect can easily be adjusted, allowing you to apply your chosen effect as you would with intuitive masking.
D-Lighting brightens the shadow areas, and Selection Control Point applies the effect only to the bright subjects and their surroundings seen through the opening between foliage and water.
Tone Curve adjusts the brightness and contrast, and Selection Control Point applies the effect only to the man and his surroundings.
Auto Retouch Brush:
To simply achieve more natural-looking results, Auto Retouch Brush lets you remove dust spots on an image using a mouse click and stroke to match the surrounding color and tones. This can also be used to remove facial blemishes, imperfections on flowers, or other unwanted objects within the frame.
Shadow/Highlight Adjustments:
Using the slider at [Quick Fix], you can adjust shadows by [Shadow Adjust] and blown out highlights by [Highlight Adjust].
Workspaces:
Four workspaces are provided: Browser, Metadata, Multi-Purpose and Edit, and your window composition can be easily switched among them.
Quick Fix:
A combination of frequently used tools including [Level and Tone Curve], [Exposure Compensation], [Contrast], [Highlight Protection], [Shadow Protection] and [Saturation] in a single window.
Simultaneous opening of multiple settings:
You can open multiple image processing settings at the same time and make parallel process adjustments of multiple details.
Label/Rating support (XMP):
Supports nine kinds of labeling and five levels of ratings according to XMP, a metadata industry standard.

Modifications enabled with ver. 2.1.0:
* Support for RAW images captured with the D90 has been added.
* An Extra High item has been added to the Active D-Lighting pulldown menu under Camera Settings in the Develop section of the Edit List. This option is only available for RAW images captured with any setting other than Off selected for Active D- Lighting in the camera's Shooting Menu.
* Image Dust Off reference photos acquired with cameras such as the D3 and D300 are applied more effectively.
* An issue theat caused Picture Control settings to be improperly applied with the following operation has been resolved:
* The D2XMODE1 Picture Control is applied to an image from the Picture Control options under Camera Settings in the Develop section of the Edit List, and a settings file is saved from the image. (optional Landscape/Portrait Controls not yet installed).
* The optional Landscape and/or Portrait Picture Control(s) is installed.
* The settings file saved in step 1 is used for batch processing.
* Picture Control settings for processed images are D2XMODE2 or D2XMODE3.
* An issue that prevented Capture NX 2 from starting when the "My Pictures" folder was moved from its default location inside My Documents, or was deleted, has been resolved.
* When the Browser's scrollbar was moved, an image selected and opened in the image window, and the image then edited and saved, the Browser's scrollbar returned to the top of the Browser window the next time the Browser was opened. This issue has been resolved.
* When the Page Setup dialog was opened using either of the follwoing operations, the Printer... button was grayed out and could not be used. This issue has been resolved.
* The print button in the activity toolbar is clicked and the Page Setup.. button in the Print layout dialog is clicked
Print... is selected from the File menu and the Page Setup... button in the Print layout dialog is clicked.
