Trillian is a free, multi-network instant messaging program that can communicate with ICQ, MSN, AIM, Yahoo Messenger and IRC networks.

Program can be customized pretty well as it supports skinning its own form of application skinning. One of the nicest things about Trillian is its ability to create unified contact lists across the various networks, which is a real life saver for people that have several contacts in multiple instant messaging networks
