ESET NOD32 Offline Updater Tutorial
Update ESET NOD32 / Smart Security v3.0, v4.0 without an internet connection

0 - About the Updater
Unlike most manufacturers of security products, ESET doesn't make definitions available from the web. Only licensed Business Editions of ESET products allow the user to create copies of update files which can be used to update other workstations. The Updater was created using the current set of update files directly downloaded from ESET update servers and copied (mirrored) into a local folder. The update files are original and unmodified ones. The installer expands the update files into any user specified folder (default is C:\Update) and does not modify the Windows registry in any manner.
The Updater runs on Windows XP/2000/Vista/Win 7 (32-bit/64-bit) and allows updating ANY ESET software v3.0/v4.0 on computers that are not connected to the internet.
1 - Using ESET Offline Updater 2.2 (installing definitions)
Download the current version from ESET Offline Updater's homepage. Extract the archive 'EOFUxxxx.rar' into any location. From within the newly created folder 'EOFUxxxx', run 'eofu3264.exe' - Fig. 1
Note : For the installer to properly install the updates, an ESET product MUST NOT BE INSTALLED on a computer - convenient for those who just need to port the updates !

The third page of the installer suggests the directory that will hold the definitions updates - default is set to 'C:\Update'. Users can create/select ANY DIRECTORY on any drive, including removable media.

Note : The installer will overwrite any files that were previously installed into the selected directory.
We recommend using the default folder 'C:\Update' which can then be easily copied to a more convenient location.
2. Updating an ESET product (using definitions)
a) Right-click on ESET tray icon and select 'Open Window'
b) In the lower left corner, change the display setting and Toggle to Advanced Mode - (Fig. 3)

c) Once in Advanced Mode, press F5, a new window will popup. Within the left panel, select 'Update' (Fig. 4)

d) In the right panel, in the field 'Update server', next to the dropdown box 'Choose automatically', click Edit (Fig. 5)

e) In the newly opened window (Fig. 6), enter the path to the folder used to install the definitions (Fig. 7), click Add, then click OK.

f) The 'update server' has been set to 'C:\Update' (Fig. 8)

g) Close all ESET windows
h) Right-click on ESET tray icon and select 'Update', the product will be updated from folder 'C:\Update' or any other (user selected) folder

- Không cần key, không cần các phần mềm tìm key cho ESET, sợ key bị block, công cụ tìm key bị block...,
- Nhà không cần có mạng mà vẫn cập nhật database thường xuyên được.
- Khuyết điểm:
- thường xuyên phải tải các gói cập nhật offline về, ~30MB
